About the FMCTA

FMCTA was formed jointly by the City of Fairmont and the Marion County Commission in 1973. It is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. Two of these members are appointed by the City Council of Fairmont, two by the Marion County Commission and one is appointed jointly.

Message from the Manager

We are pleased to announce that we offer transportation to the West Virginia Airport for information call 304 366 8177.

Fairmont-Marion County Transit Authority will run a "Saturday Schedule", on Friday July 3, 2009. FMCTA will be closed on Saturday July 4, 2009. This schedule is so our employees may observe Independence Day. All regular routes will resume on Monday July 6, 2009. The Saturday bus routes is: Watson/Middletown Mall/Edgemont loop, Barrackville, Rivesville and East Side. On the East Side route if you need to go to Gabrial Brothers in Meadowdale inform the driver and you will be taken there, also make sure you inform the driver when you want pick-up for your return to Fairmont.

For your information, The Fairmont-Marion County Transit Authority does not conduct regular route runs to Morgantown and Clarksburg on Saturday's. However, Morgantown operates Grey line service  seven days a week. You may catch our Mt Harmony bus on Saturday and connect with Grey line at McDonald's on Speedway. Grey line serves Clarksburg, Morgantown, Pittsburgh Greyhound bus station, and Pittsburgh International Airport. 

Question you may have : How do I catch a bus and once I catch a bus how do I continue on to my destination? Answer: While you maybe out along any major street or highway and you see one of our Red, White and blue buses with Fairmont-Marion County Transit written down each side just flag the bus down. Once you board the bus just inform the driver where you need to go, He or She will be glad to explain to you how to ride and catch our buses.

All of our daily bus routes begin and end at the Marion County Courthouse. For additional information  just go to our contact link and send us your comments we will respond to every question or comment   

 FMCTA added an additional Morgantown run beginning at 5:10 PM call the dispatcher for details.
